Well, were not football stars and we don't have kids. But my husbad and I have been together for twenty years. We've stayed together through two major career changes, unemployment, six startup businesses, infertility and my chronic illness. We are very much in love. Knock wood :-)

A friend made us one of these in acrylic, and though I like the looks, it stretches like crazy, filling it with oranges makes it sag to my knees when it's over my shoulders -- just freaky. So cotton's it. I'm sorry it's hard on your fingers. (I imagine silk would work, but would be too expensive for a bag.)

amanda is just jealous of paula. they went to dinner a couple of weeks ago (Paula, Amanda, Randy, Simon), the paparazzis took like 50 pics of Paula and Amanda was in the background of some of them but the paparazzis had no clue who Amanda was so they did not name her. LOL

Oh, and I just realized that you're talking about buying reairing rights for BGT. Sorry, I'm dense in the morning till at least two cups of tea. And if that's true, I'm really sad about that. With "The Apprentice" now airing both the US and UK versions here, it would be a great opportunity. But at least YouTube is allowing US IP addresses to watch BGT acts, although that leaves a lot cut out.

Yeah, we've already got "America's Got Talent" here with Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne, which I've never gotten into but I may be blogging about it at work soon.

But something I read recently said that part of his last contract was a provision that if he stayed, he could do an American version of "The X Factor" after the contract. I think he had been sued by Simon Fuller for doing that show in the UK while "Pop Idol" was around, and that was part of the settlement.

But obviously what is true in the Brit papers is not necessarily true in real life, so who knows? He danced around the subject on Oprah yesterday.

Thanks so much for the links. I had suspected there might be feeds somewhere, because I had seen the WP coding, but I was using RSS instead of feed at the end and couldn't find them.

Nice site, BTW. Especially like the new YouTube channel, since it allows embedding.

Well, I can help you with the "I'm away" thing, since you are coming here (BTW, I guess we should make plans for that.) And AGT is greatly inferior IMHO, although I may be creating a blog at work to blog the new season when it happens here, so I guess I should not say bad things about it, ;)

I can understand why people aren't into "Saturday Night Takeaway", because it's a different kind of light entertainment. But I don't think that any other presenters could add that extra touch that Ant & Dec do backstage. They are genuinely funny guys. I can't even think of an American equivalent to them, because guys like Ryan Seachrist don't even really try to do what they do. And I'm just fascinated by how involved in the process of making their shows. That's not typical with TV talent. I'd love to interview them about that.

Speaking of which, I actually just got a VHS copy of "Chums" that was released around 1998.

Somehow I missed that this was even going to be on and caught the last ten minutes the other night. Thankfully ITV repeats on its other channels.

Only downside of this is that 1. I'm away and 2. ITV seems to trying to promote the show by re-running last year's episodes of America's Got Talent which seemed designed to prove that we don't.

I'm not a giant fan of Ant and Dec, mostly 'cos I don't like the shows they present. But when they do present a show I like (e.g. BGT) it shows what a huge talent great presenting is - and how key it is to making a show like this. They are tops.

That was an interesting read! Yes, the new Facebook layout is rubbish, and everything is a pain to find..but it's like this every time they update it, but within a few days we're used to the new design again...until the next one right!?

I think your reason number 6 ("If you like to do watch events like the Grammys or presidential speeches, you’ll never get a more spirited discussion of this than on Twitter...") was the one that resonated with me the most. For me, the three best live discussions that I have attended on Twitter were the 2009 and 2008 Super Bowl commercial discussions and Larry Ellison's keynote at 2007 Oracle OpenWorld.

To be honest, for all that Blagojevich has been an ass, he paid more attention to southern Illinois and traveled here more often than just about any other state politician. Granted, that's not saying much, but he helped save Scott Air Force Base and the Mississippi River Bridge Project and the ethanol research plant and a hell of a lot of stuff we never got from previous governors. Frankly, he's the only governor or gubernatorial candidate I've ever seen who ever acknowledged that there's an Illinois south of I-80, so I wouldn't fault him for screwing us slightly more than Chicago. It beats being completely ignored by Chicago.

The rest of it, though, pure disappointment.

I love TLC too, Almost chose that over Travel Channel. I have a very love-hate feeling with them. Kate is the most annoying person I know.

I only really watch TV when sick and/or incapacitated so my TV selections are based on mindless entertainment:

1. TLC-- I love What Not to Wear and John and Kate Plus Eight
2. Spike-- I know this one is for "the guys" but they play a lot of Law and Order and CSI and don't just rerun the same two episodes all day long
3. The Country Music Radio Channel--not the MTV equivalent, the one that is basically a commerical free radio that shows you what artist/song is playing. Much better variety than the radio so this is the one channel I "watch" on a regular basis (while cleaning or whatnot).
4. The channel with the home improvement/ real estate shows, I forget it's name
5. One of the history or science channels. : )

Thanks for writing this up. I really enjoyed reading your thoughts about this. It would be great if they put some of the money into Torchwood - I didn't know they were going to have a truncated season and I really enjoy that show too.

I wonder what Dylan Moran would think if he knew so many people thought he would make an awesome Doctor Who. Even if he wasn't interested, I'm sure he would be flattered.
