As far as I'm concerned, we're all human beings. Human beings deserve to live no matter their malady.

It's disgusting that we have an entire industry of middlemen making a buck off of us being sick.

Basic healthcare is a fundamental human right.

I hope your treatments work - and I hope your insurance company keeps paying for them.

No offense, but did you even read my post or just pull it out of a search engine so you can post add your ill-informed spam here? I barely mentioned illegal aliens at the end. And it's sad that we're ready to round them all up and send them home where they would NEVER get good care. When will we as a country be able to give up the me-me-me part and do things for the better good?

In the past not too many Americans and legal residents were unaware of the happenings in Congress. Today instant contact is a way of life for anybody who has access to a computer. In 1986 other than the paper media, tv and radio gave any evidence of the Immigration Reform package and that was surely limited? The US population was isolated from the truth that was to befall them, after the Simpson/Mazzoli bill passed because the politicians hid the truth? 2 million guest workers were to be given citizenship, but the process became full of corruption and 5.3 million was eventually approved for blanket AMNESTY. Expeditiously the guest workers moved away from agriculture and joined the mainstream of workers. BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES ARE EQUALLY TO TAKE BLAME FOR THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION OCCUPATION OF OUR NATION.

The people who picked the fruit and vegetables in the farms vanished, so that meant more floods of illegal workers to take the empty places. Today Obama wants to pass another miserable immigration reform bill, even though the main author Edward Kennedy insisted there would never be another path to citizenship. Millions of honest voter don't believe the rhetoric or lies that spill from the politicians anymore. Again behind closed drapes they have been having a secret summit, with little or no participation of the press or pro-sovereignty groups. When lawmakers declare no more Immigration reform than they better stick to their words. Both parties contain corrupt legislators who care nothing for the working man/women and are ready to present in the House and Senate a new immigration reform bill.

Joe Wilson was right to some degree about no mechanism in the health care package to identify illegal aliens. After the fact and bombarded by livid Americans they added amendments that would cut off all access. That why our legislators need to amplify the verification procedures, to remove foreign nationals from cheating the system.

I trust neither Sen. Harry Reid, House speaker Pelosi and all those who fumble along behind the major conspirators. Harry Reid's Nevada has hospitals in dire need of funds, because of the massive illegal alien population there. The same with California that's having release 20.000 prison inmates, because they were on the edge of bankruptcy, owing to indifferent assembly in Sacramento who allowed unfettered benefits to millions of illegal immigrant families feeding out of the waning state money trough.The businesses that draw them here, pay nothing to their living conditions. Those expenses are left to the taxpayers. Call your Senator or Representative at 202-224-3121 and demand no more Immigration Reform. If you want real facts find out about the corruption and other sinister issues at NUMBERSUSA & JUDICIAL WATCH. Only your irate voices will curtail another AMNESTY travesty and stop millions more arriving illegally in America?
Certainly I would like a Public option for some family members, but not if illegal aliens can benefit from US taxpayers paying the bill?

When I posted my review on Slice of SciFi, I said that Ianto's death fit the dark nature and grown up storytelling Torchwood has been trying to do all along....and it does. On Dr who his death would be noble and save someone or something...here it is meaningless and empty. There is no value to it, it doesn't lead to the defeat of the 456 and it doesn't help solve the crisis at hand. For that reason, I like that the story took us there and how it did it.

CoE was about having lots of choices--all of them bad. There was no good way out of this...just the lesser of several evils.

In my mind, it was Torchwood finally growing up and being less about characters' sexual choices and cussing and more about adult themes and darker concepts.

That said, the ending should be left the ending....no more Torchwood would be fine by me.

that said, I enjoyed the third series of Torchwood more than the first two. I liked all five nights and I'm curious why you hated the last two, though suspect it may be for the reason people are issuing death threats against the writing staff.

Well, were not football stars and we don't have kids. But my husbad and I have been together for twenty years. We've stayed together through two major career changes, unemployment, six startup businesses, infertility and my chronic illness. We are very much in love. Knock wood :-)

A friend made us one of these in acrylic, and though I like the looks, it stretches like crazy, filling it with oranges makes it sag to my knees when it's over my shoulders -- just freaky. amanda is just jealous of paula. they went to dinner a couple of weeks ago (Paula, Amanda, Randy, Simon), the paparazzis took like 50 pics of Paula and Amanda was in the background of some of them but the paparazzis had no clue who Amanda was so they did not name her. LOL

Oh, and I just realized that you're talking about buying reairing rights for BGT. Sorry, I'm dense in the morning till at least two cups of tea. And if that's true, I'm really sad about that. With "The Apprentice" now airing both the US and UK versions here, it would be a great opportunity. But at least YouTube is allowing US IP addresses to watch BGT acts, although that leaves a lot cut out.

Yeah, we've already got "America's Got Talent" here with Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne, which I've never gotten into but I may be blogging about it at work soon.

But something I read recently said that part of his last contract was a provision that if he stayed, he could do an American version of "The X Factor" after the contract. I think he had been sued by Simon Fuller for doing that show in the UK while "Pop Idol" was around, and that was part of the settlement.

But obviously what is true in the Brit papers is not necessarily true in real life, so who knows? He danced around the subject on Oprah yesterday.

Well, I can help you with the "I'm away" thing, since you are coming here (BTW, I guess we should make plans for that.) And AGT is greatly inferior IMHO, although I may be creating a blog at work to blog the new season when it happens here, so I guess I should not say bad things about it, ;)

I can understand why people aren't into "Saturday Night Takeaway", because it's a different kind of light entertainment. But I don't think that any other presenters could add that extra touch that Ant & Dec do backstage. They are genuinely funny guys. I can't even think of an American equivalent to them, because guys like Ryan Seachrist don't even really try to do what they do. And I'm just fascinated by how involved in the process of making their shows. That's not typical with TV talent. I'd love to interview them about that.

Speaking of which, I actually just got a VHS copy of "Chums" that was released around 1998.

Somehow I missed that this was even going to be on and caught the last ten minutes the other night. Thankfully ITV repeats on its other channels.

Only downside of this is that 1. I'm away and 2. ITV seems to trying to promote the show by re-running last year's episodes of America's Got Talent which seemed designed to prove that we don't.

I'm not a giant fan of Ant and Dec, mostly 'cos I don't like the shows they present. But when they do present a show I like (e.g. BGT) it shows what a huge talent great presenting is - and how key it is to making a show like this. They are tops.
