A Place To Crash: ‘Waiting for Freddie’…Yeah, Right

Now, now...concentrate on a greater than 50% graduation rate? Don't be ridiculous.

I have to admit when I read about the "rich retirees" I thought - Lawrence County? Rich retirees? Folks will retire there for the beautiful views, the splendid cultural offerings, the fabulous shopping, the recreational facilities, the balmy climate, the charming locals...

Geez...AFAIK, the only thing it has that might lure me into retiring there is SunDrop and proximity to family grave plots.

My mom - lifelong Dem voted for Freddie when he ran for Senate, and she's still mad he did nothing for the town.

The latest LA Times story paints the town a leetle more colorfully.

Yes, because the rich retirees will flock to a town without a coastline or a river and nothing, honestly, to do. Because there are only so many times you can go visit the Amish.

I wanna be so rich that I can import the Sun Drop wherever I go. And thanks to my mom's geneology research, I feel no need to ever visit another cemetary. In fact, it would make me very happy if I never did.

I saw you mention your Aunt Tiny. Would that be Tiny Brown? Mama was good friends with her back in her Pilot Club days.

Has the LAT made it down to the Confederate colony yet? I can't wait for that to hit the national press....

Yep - Tiny Brown - actually my great aunt.
